We’re very proud to announce the new PRIA laboratory (short PRIA lab) at the TGM (Vienna Institute of Technology). To give students the space where they can unfold their creativity and also their productivity, there are different sections in the laboratory. It should be a place where they are comfortable and even work extracurricular on their projects. Of course, they can contact us with any questions, because our office is right next door.
Team “Robotech” from TGM (Vienna Institute of Technology) impressed at the Global Conference on Educational Robotics 2012 (GCER) in Hawaii. Hannah Siegel, Daniel Frank and Daniel Schnöll may proudly be called vice world champion in the Botball “Alliance” competition.
The first European Conference on Educational Robotics (ECER), hostet by the Practical Robotics Institute Austria (PRIA), was a great success. This is a short movie which shows spectacular pictures of this unique event.
For the sixth time there was the IYIPO – the International Young Inventors Project Olympiad – in Tbilisi, Georgia. In the three days of 27 to 29 April 2012, 118 participants from 30 countries came to show projects in the categories of mathematics, chemistry, information technology, biology, engineering and physics.
During the conference, but even before, it has become clear that robotics not only appeals kids and teenagers for robotics, but also the media for reporting. The spark of enthusiasm has spilled over from the young to the photographers and reporters. So we are proud to present a 6-page article about the ECER and robotics in the new “Profil Wissen” (Edition Nr. 2 | June 2012 | Sites 74-79). The “Dueling of the Machines” and an interview with the project partner from the United States of America, Dr. David Miller, provides insights into the world of research and the enthusiasm of young people about robotics.
